Project Overview:
Em Dub Design was brought in midway through the project to manage this playground renovation project to completion. The project replaced an outdated playground with new equipment, play areas, a zip line, and updated irrigation.
Em Dub oversaw the final CD package submittal and reviews through the Denver Parks and Recreation (DPR) QA/QC review and bid package assembly process for bidding to the DPR on-call contractor pool. This required coordinating with Denver’s Department of Public Health and Environment (DPHE) to determine any potential site issues that would impact construction, the Office of City Forester for work around existing trees, and parks maintenance staff on managing construction impacts to an open park.
Part of the project funding came from a Colorado Health Department grant which required “spend-by” dates. The split funding necessitated close work with the DPR finance department to spend down the grant money first and complete the required reporting.
Em Dub also guided the bidding process, prepared the contracting documents, managed the contractor and construction, and provided day to day reviews of construction work as needed.
