Project Overview:
Based on Em Dub Design’s experience and success at designing improvements for other area cities that won Arapahoe County Open Space grants for park updates, the City of Glendale approached our firm to provide similar services.
After working with the city to define goals for the updates, the team decided the best approach was to develop a Master Plan and then break it into three phases for pursuing sequential grants.
Key goals for the city were to increase overall activity in the park and to elevate the city’s branding as America’s Rugby Capital.
The completed master plan includes a half-rugby pitch, pickleball courts, basketball hoop and court, a large off leash dog space, playground updates, restroom replacement, and new permitted shelter. The roof of the existing restroom wase repurposed for the new shelter.
Grants were successfully awarded for all three phases. Phase 1 was completed in 2023, Phase 2 in 2024, and Phase 3 in 2025.
