Project Overview:
Fred Thomas Park was among several Denver parks required by the DOJ to address ADA accessibility deficiencies. Em Dub Design was contracted to help the City address these issues at several parks. This particular park lacked access to nearly all of its amenities, including the playground and outdated play equipment, basketball court, and viewing area for the sand volleyball court.
Em Dub Design worked with the City to develop a very streamlined set of construction documents to create new accessible sidewalks where needed as well as to adjust irrigation accordingly. Em Dub Design also redesigned the playground and play equipment to include accessible play area surfacing, ramps in and out of the play area, picnic tables and benches, and new play equipment that meets all current ADA accessibility requirements.
